Ten Reasons to Hate Mortgage Modifications
Very good article, the only right thing to do is to let the housing market correct itself without any interference. Granted, this approach will be very very painful to the overall economy, but at least, it won't be be patch-work

Cramer's Lightning Round - Drowning Your Sorrows in Diageo (11/21/08)
I am curious to know if any financially-depressed folks are consuming
expensive brand liquors like Johnny Walker Scotch from Diageo.

      American Express: A Creditable Investment - Barron's
One thing to watch out for is that as more people get laid off, there will be an increased number outstanding bills to be paid to Amex. If the job market stabilizes, I would feel comfortable with the contents of this article

Ten Reasons to Invest in Florida
It is sad that Seeking Alpha authors don't double-check their articles before publishing it. There is a big difference between 77 million and 77 billion.
And yes, there are property taxes in Florida.

Let us not forget Darden Restaurants

Disney Holds Up Well Despite Economic Downturn
I agree with "jepittman". Why did Disney bother doing business with Lehman? Is there any other financial company they did business with?

Slamming the Brakes on GM - Barron's
Even if GM gets financial support of some kind, am I ever going to buy an American car when Japanese have been making superior cars? The answer is no. Why waste money saving GM?

      Buffett on Investing vs. Business
Being a businessman means that you have to know the management team as well and trust that they will run the business well. It makes no sense to buy a "hot" stock with poor management

This article is stating some obvious facts. But it would be helpful if the article were to state possible causes , solutions to bring the mortgage rate down and so on.

What If Warren Buffett Is Wrong About the Markets?
Investing is a gray area for each and every individual. Nobody should follow any investing guru blindly. But what Buffet is say is don't lose faith in the American system.
He never said that we should put 100% of our money into stocks.

I disagree with the prior comment. Disney, just like KO has a brand name. Every kid wants to see Mickey Mouse. I agree though parents can always cut back on theme parks. But parks are only, I believe, 10-20% of Disney's revenue.
